OcToBeR 2o1o

We had a lot of fun carving pumpkins with our little punkin this year. We went and picked them out for part of our FHE (only 9 cents a pound...pretty sweet!) and then carved them the next night. They all turned out pretty cool. Jake picked the big one, I picked the owl, and Molly inspired the baby one with her six little teeth. She loved eating the seeds and playing with the carver.  She didn't love getting goop stuck in her toes. It snowed for the first time that night...a fun ending to the night.
We spent halloween weekend up north. As always, we had fun with our families. We had the firth family traditional chili and homemade doughnuts (which turned out perfectly this year) halloween night. YUM!
Here is Nana's dough, rising to perfection. I didn't get a picture of the finished product because we were too busy devouring them. But they turned out soo yummy.
Jake manned the oil this year and cooked them to a perfect golden brown.
Molly was a witch.
The cutest witch I've ever seen :)

She has a new favorite game. She loves it when Papa chases her and she gets to "escape" to whoever happens to be near by. It was so cute to watch her run as fast as her little legs could carry her and see her "scared" face when we told her to "hurry! hurry!" And my favorite, her looking over her shoulder right as she was almost safe in her rescuer's arms...just to make sure he's still there playing. She couldn't get enough.
We tried to catch a little on video...but it ranout of batteries. maybe next time...
We were also able to make it to a good friend's farewell. He will be an awesome missionary and we are very proud of him.
And we were able to spend some time with our good friends, the Turleys. We wish having them as neighbors.
Earlier this month we were able to sneak away and spend a sunday afternoon and evening with Grandma and Grandpa Firth. They had been spending the week in Midway and let us join them for a day. We brought up dinner and they treated us to some yummy dessert. We had such a fun time visiting with them and are glad Grandpa is feeling a little better :)

9 Months Old
Molly is growing up so fast. We can't believe she is 10 months old now!
She loves...
*walking (started at 9 months)
*eating chocolate, cheese, vanilla wafers (not particularly together)
she even does dances to get it :)
*taking the shortest (or non existent) naps
*sleeping in her big girl bed rather than her crib
*getting chased
*waving at everyone---especially cashiers
*people
*making friends with other kids
*wrestling and headbutting
*bowing her forehead to you when you ask for a kiss
*giving high fives
*to show us where our nose or mouth is when we ask her
*animals
*cuddling with her blanket and bunny when she is tired
*being outside
*reading books. she will grab them and bring them to me and climb onto my lap. i love it.
*playing with mom's makeup...couldn't be happier whens he's playing with tube of mascara
*emptying the drawers in the kitchen
*opening and closing every cabinet...especially the bottom of our entertainment center
*being held and rocked
*getting tickled
*her new carseat
*looking at the collage of pictures above our kitchen sink, being told who everyone is
She is learning so much so quickly. It is fun to watch how smart she is getting. It is crazy to me how much her understanding has grown just the past few weeks. She is getting pretty good at following simple directions like...
go get your bear. take this to daddy. etc.
she is learning to say dog "gog" and is re-remembering kitty "keekee"
she says Dada and Mum.

It's so fun (and a little sad) to watch my baby turn into a little girl. We sure love her!

And you forgot the funny story about her nearly pulling the wig off the cashier lady at the store. I LOVE that story! And...Molly, Nana won't make you reach as far for treats :)

Fantastic pumpkins!!
