Happy Fathers Day!
We started the weekend out at the Housley Family Reunion. Jake's Mom was in charge of planning it this year. It was at their house. It was fun to visit and eat yummy food. Molly got to meet Great Grandma Housley for the first time. (I am DYING that I didn't get a picture...if anyone happened to snap one...we sure would love a copy! I don't know where our brains were...we didn't snap a single picture! I guess we were having too much fun visiting. Still...lame!) The whole family was there...we were even lucky enough to have Candice fly down from Oregon.
Everyone camped out and then we had a delicious breakfast saturday morning.
It is always fun to get together with family.
Saturday the three of us headed over to Logan. We got to go on a little hike up Logan Canyon (boy do we miss this place!). So beautiful! Molly got to try out her backpack for the first time (Thanks, Karalee!). She loved it.
We are excited to use it a little it more on our trip to Denver in a few weeks.
We are counting down the days! ...The entire Firth family will get to be together and we will get to meet sweet little Elsie for the first time!
That evening, Nana decided Wingers was sounding pretty tastey...so we all hopped in the car, got a few orders of wings and sticky finger salads to go, and found a nice grassy area to enjoy our food (which happened to be the hospital lawn...Its a little tricky to find a well light area at 11pm :)) Then it was off to the hot tub.
Then...Jake's First FATHER'S DAY.
The girls made the food and Jake and my Dad (the grill masters)grilled it up for us.
Everything was delicious!
Great food. Great company.
That evening we stopped by the Christensen's and then headed home. A very successful weekend.

A few other things we've been up to...
Jake has decided it would be fun to make a tent. He found a sweet website where we can order all the fabric and supplies we would need. Before tackling the tent, we decided to make some rain covers for our backpacks. The bottom right is a picture of our prototype--we experimented with some fabric first. We're half way done with it...just trying to figure out the best seam to use...it's a bit tricky around the corners.
We recently got some baking stones. We are having a lot of fun trying out new things on them. We made our first loaf of artisan bread. It was tastey...we gobbled it up before we could take a picture of the finished product :)
Tuesday, Molly and I picked up Jake from work. We went and scoped out a few bike rides and explored Emmigration and Big Cottonwood Canyons. We were hoping to get a good hike in but time got away from us and it got a little chillier than we were prepared for with Molly. We enjoyed a nice picnic dinner by a little river.
We are hoping to make it back up there to do some camping soon.
The flowers Jake brought home to me (and one for Molly).
So sweet!
They're gorgeous and smell divine :)
Thanks, babe!

Fun! Too bad we didn't get to see you over the weekend.
I cannot wait for you to teach me all of your artisan bread knowledge! you and dani are going to need to give me a lesson! I am so impressed with Jake's tent skills. Once he has it down I'll be ready to sell them up here for him. :) I get the feeling Molly is in desperate need of some attention from her auntie... the Colorado trip just isn't coming quick enough!
xo
I can't wait to see Molly and hang out with you guys!cute pics!
